In your routine eye examination our eye doctors will perform a thorough health assessment, checking for any abnormalities in the internal and external structures of the eye, as well as in your vision. With an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) test, the most advanced technology available, we are able to examine the distinctive layers of the retina, allowing us to map and measure the thickness of each tissue layer. These measurements, along with a slit lamp examination and possible dilation by the doctor could result in an earlier diagnosis and manage eye diseases with a greater precision. Our Doctors of Optometry work closely with Ophthalmologists, managing a patient’s treatment, sending/receiving referrals and ensuring your ocular health is looked after. There are a lot more options for treatment now and with a regular eye exam, there is a greater chance of preventative care and stabilizing certain eye diseases.
