The main deterrent for switching from glasses to contacts is generally the prospect of regularly and deliberately putting something in your eyes. If you are able to get past the initial aversion (which goes away rapidly with the continuous use), there are many advantages for using contact lenses.

Just like you would have raingear, or workout gear, adding contact lenses enhance your comfort and performance depending on your activity. But, over-wearing your contacts can lead to health issues for your eyes. The optimal solution is a balance between glasses and contact lenses. This allows for the best of both worlds by opening up some funky eyeglass choices (if you do not need them every day you could add some fun colours you might fear “too limiting”) AND allows for a perfect execution of “downward dog” at yoga class.
